Margaret Deuerlein, LMHC, NCC

Margaret Deuerlein, LMHC, NCC, is a Licensed Psychotherapist. She has extensive experience, knowledge and is trained on top treatment modalities as evidenced by her Certification in EMDR through EMDRIA, and other therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Gottman Method, EFT and others. She is dedicated and committed in treating trauma, anxiety, mood dysregulation, depression, low self-esteem, insecurity, stress, communication and interpersonal problems. She also provides therapy to individuals who suffer from personality disorders and couples who struggle communication, conflict resolution, trust, emotional connection and intimacy. She helps you heal and transform your everyday life.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma is an emotional response to an intense adverse event like an accident, assault, or natural disaster. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical.

Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms like headaches. After experiencing a trauma event, people can develop Acute Stress Disorder (ASD), which is a response to a traumatic event that occurs within one month of the event.

When symptoms persist for more than one month, people may develop PTSD, which can cause some people to have difficulty moving on with their lives. We can work through these challenges and improve people’s overall mental and emotional well-being.

Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts, and physical changes like increased blood pressure.

People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry. They may also have physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, dizziness, or a rapid heartbeat.

Anxiety disorders include Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, Agoraphobia, Generalized Anxiety, and Separation. Anxiety can interfere with a person’s ability to do the things they most want in life.

Depression Treatment

Everyone experiences sadness at times. But depression is something more. Depression is more intense sadness or despair that lasts more than days. It interferes with the activities of daily life and can cause physical symptoms such as pain, weight changes, sleeping pattern disruptions, or lack of energy.
